Common Questions

howard_blue.png
Why did my invitation not arrive in the mail?

We are not totally sure! Celia is beefing with USPS over it, we suspect it is because it included a very cute wax stamp on the inside that made the envelope "non-machinable," but they won't tell us anything. You're still invited, thank you for making your way to our site, and we hope the invites make it to you eventually!

Is the ceremony happening at the Howard Theatre?

Nope! We had a small private ceremony at Celia's family cabin on May 30th. You'll get to experience it with us during the reception through a screening of our wedding video.

What’s the dress code?

Formal, black tie optional. We ask that our guests wear either suits or mid-full length dresses, but feel free to have fun with colors and style! The event theme is vintage glam, and we'll have photographers taking portraits of guests, so come ready to look and feel your best. Please no jeans or khakis.

Do I get a plus one?

Check your invitation for an additional slip to see if a guest is included. Space is limited, so we can only accommodate those listed. If the RSVP page asks if you're bringing a guest, you have a plus one.
Thank you for understanding!

Can I bring my kids?

We love your little ones, but this is an adults-only evening (16+). Consider it a great excuse for a well-deserved night out!

Where should I park or how should I get there?

Rideshares or taxis are your best bet. Street parking near the venue is limited, but there are a few paid lots nearby. If you prefer public transit, the Howard Theatre is Metro-accessible: take the Green or Yellow Line to Shaw-Howard U Station.

Where To Stay

DC has plenty of hotels, but some areas are better than others. We've curated a list of recommended spots that are safe, centrally located, and close to the venue. If you don't know the city well, we'd suggest sticking with these.

Closest to the Venue

Stay within a short, safe walk of the Howard Theatre. These hotels are ideal for guests who want quick access to the reception, easy transportation, and reliable service without the need for a car.

Budget-Friendly

These tend to be under $200/night on average. You’ll probably want to take a quick Uber or Lyft to the theatre, but all of these are in safe areas and have what you need for a comfortable stay.

Historic

Perfect if you want to make a weekend out of it and explore DC’s sights. These have that classic “DC trip” feel with great neighborhoods, beautiful buildings, and lots to walk to.
